Our Epoxy / Polyurethane Flake Flooring is a multi-layer flooring system which can be applied with either a partial or full thickness flake layer to provide the ULTIMATE SHOWROOM QUALITY APPEARANCE. Whether its your GARAGE, RUMPUS, LAUNDRY or other indoor area, our Professional Grade Epoxy Flooring is designed to look GREAT and OUTLAST almost any other floor coating available. It’s available in a range of DESIGNER COLOURS and FLAKE COMBINATIONS to suit any decor.
Reasonably new floors without contamination can usually be prepared using a strong acid etch followed by an intensive 4000psi high pressure water blast to remove the smooth top layer of concrete along with any contaminants.
We don’t skimp on product or use cheap and nasty imported rubbish… We only use HIGH QUALITY Australian Resins designed for use in heavy duty environments such as Warehouses, Workshops, Commercial Kitchens and Showrooms.
For older floors with existing coatings or contamination, we will need to surface grind the area (as seen in the video) to ensure a suitable surface prior to coating. We use professional grade equipment with diamond tooling and a large industrial HEPA vacuum extractor to collect the waste and minimise dust during the grinding process. We would typically remove somewhere between 20kg – 40kg of waste from a typical double garage.
If a flake finish is required we next apply a liberal coating of the chosen decorative flakes while the epoxy is still tacky to provide a very attractive showroom style look.
We then return to apply a liberal clear coat to protect the flake layer and provide an extremely durable, gloss showroom finish which is chemically resistant and one of the toughest wearing floor coatings available. While an Epoxy clear coat is an option here, we highly recommend the selection of a Polyurethane Topcoat, as this resists yellowing from UV Sunlight which can be an issue with Epoxy products over time. While Polyurethane costs a little more it is well worth the extra investment to keep your floor looking great especially if it will be regularly exposed to the sun.
Once the floor is clean, dry and profiled correctly we then proceed to grind and fill any major cracks or damage. This provides a smooth even surface in preparation for application of the epoxy coating.
Once the floor is clean, dry and in a suitable state for coating we apply a thick
layer of the coloured epoxy resin to seal the floor and fill minor imperfections. Once cured we return again to apply either a second coat of Epoxy in the case of a single colour floor or the Flake Layer if applicable.
We use 100% Solids Epoxy Resins for a High Build COMMERCIAL strength and QUALITY finish. As an example on a typical two car garage we would apply approximately 15 – 20kg of Epoxy Resin compared to just 4kg to 6kg rolled on by many competitors… This is why our floors will still be in good condition long after the cheap and nasty ones look all scratched and worn.
For a typical double garage floor in new condition, Our basic single colour Epoxy Floor pricing start from around $1950 depending on preparation and specific job requirements. Our SHOWROOM Flake Floor Finish is a rather labour intensive process which is performed over a 3 to 4 day period. Prices start from $2150 depending on the flake and clear coat finish options selected as well as the level of preparation required.
